Desperately needed emergency help (residential) well after normal hours to get the garage (2 car) door functioning again. Called Precision at 7:30 pm and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get an appt for 10 pm that very evening. Richard McCann came to the rescue. Richard assessed the situation quickly, provided options to resolve the problems and once a plan was chosen, was extremely efficient in completing the work by midnight ; ( replaced 2 springs, installed new safety cables, new lift motor and track, etc.) Quite impressive , indeed. I highly recommend Precision ( and Richard) for your garage door repair needs.

By Sunday afternoon, within an hour after Paul arrived, I had a new and much upgraded system installed. Lucas Fisher and Tim McRae were both courteous and meticulous while installing our new garage door and opener. They noticed a defect in the upper panel of our newly installed door, brought it to our attention and arranged for a replacement panel. Although the garage door was useable, the replacement panel was installed 8 days later by Lucas. The defect, which I noticed when they left, would have effected the long term garage door performance and could result in further door damage. They accepted partial payment until the installation was completed. After the initial door installation, Lucas helped us setup the MyQ WiFi system, program the wireless Keyless Entry system and understand programming of the remote controls in a manner that was clear and accurate. I had a number of questions answered including questions about not using LED light bulbs with the newly installed opener. He correctly explained that he was installing LED bulbs rated for garage door use. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with this garage door service company and their installers.

These guys showed up and quoted me hundreds of dollars more than they quoted me over the phone. The tech was very knowledgeable but was trying to sell me far more than my garage doors actually needed. I had another company come in and do the required work for $270 less than the $700 Precision wanted once they got here.
Thank you for calling Precision to provide a quote for your garage door repairs. The quotes provided over the phone by the call center are general prices for springs, so they will not match exactly what the quotes are that the technician provides once he does a full 25 point inspection on the door. Our technicians are trained to advise the customer of every possible component of the door that might need to be addressed either at that time, or in the future. We will never perform any work that isn't explained and agreed upon by the customer. We reviewed the 25 point inspection of your door and you did in fact have multiple components that failed the inspection. We certainly could have replaced just your springs, as we provided you a quote for both springs and a tune up for $536.21. That quote didn't address any of the other items found on the inspection. We would be happy to help with anything you need in the future, so please don't hesitate to reach out.

After performing his 25 point safety inspection he took the time to cost out and fully explain alternative solutions for my repair to ensure my system was safe and functioning efficiently. He did the same for the system on our second door. He carried out the repair to my door, having all the parts to hand, and I felt confident that it was running safely, and more quietly, by the time he left. The garage repair person was on time, and did what appeared to be a very thorough job of getting our early 1980s era one car garage up and running again. There were more issues present than what we thought was a broken spring, however. The final cost to us was a little over $1,400 which was a bit surprising. Could we have had it repaired for less? I don’t know. Regardless, we are satisfied with the work he did. Our garage door runs much more smoothly now and has a 7 year guarantee.
