We came home from a weekend trip and found the cables hanging loosely and the torsion spring broken on one of our garage doors. I went to the Precision website and clicked on the chat. Given that it was just after 9pm on a Sunday, I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, the chat was able to schedule an appointment between 4pm and 8pm on Monday. The tech, Scotty, arrived just before 4:30. He explained what he expected to do and got it done quickly, completing the repair within about 30 minutes! Scotty was friendly and professional, exactly what I have come to expect from Precision Garage Door professionals! This is the second time we have used Precision at this house and we have been very satisfied both times. We highly recommend Precision Garage Door Service!

Ricky was just fantastic. My garage door would not operate anymore. He explained all the options to me. There was no pressure to select one over another. I got a new motor as the old one was 13 years old. He explained maintenance to me and showed me while he oiled the door. The entire job was finished faster than I expected. Besides a new motor the door now closes quietly and smoothly instead of all the clanking and banging as before. Great service and support from Ricky Garcia from Precision!

When I made the appointment, I was told there would be a $95 mandatory charge for the "25 point safety inspection" that has to be done prior to any work. I get that there is typically a service call flat fee for any kind of home repair call. But there was no safety inspection. He looked at the door and immediately said it was "totaled" and said had no tools to do repair on this door, it was way overdue for replacement (14 years old.) Said it only had a three-year life. Maybe he meant warranty. So he wrote up the estimate for a replacement door, just the door, $4000. Said it would take 4-6 weeks but if I wanted the model manufactured in Raleigh, less than a week but $7000. He said he would help me get my car out of the garage. He wrote up the estimate, took measurements, showed me the catalog of options (i am very limited because in townhome community with identical garage doors.) When I told him I didn't want to sign a contract for new door until I looked into a second opinion, he said he couldn't save the estimate he had written up, it would have to be redone if I decided to go with them and that would involved another service call/fee! When I asked about getting the help getting my car out of garage and he told me he couldn't do that without a signed contract, then said for $350 he could. I tried to pay the $106 service call fee with credit card, but he waived it away and said something like "don't even worry about that." (But I did get an invoice via e-mail.) I guess this was more of a sales call and not a repair call.

Excellent experience with Precision Garage Door Service of Raleigh. Scheduling the service appointment was very efficient, the staff at RGDSR was quite responsive. Technician Tim arrived right on time, was highly knowledgeable and very skilled at garage door issue diagnosis and repair. He installed two new garage door motors in a very reasonable amount of time and they work great. Tim took the time to thoroughly explain the operation of the new garage door openers and assisted us in reprogramming the remote functions in our vehicles. I called Precision door company normally they have been very helpful in helping me with my garage door if something does not work. I have always had a very good experience with Precision and I can even call back a few of the guys that have helped me in the past. Gary is always great to work with. However, this time I called because the garage door would not open all the way or close. The tech came out and it was the cable that had broke. I was not informed nor aware I could purchased just the cable and have it installed by a friend, or just have the cable replaced. The tech just said it needed a new cable and it comes with the rail, I asked the price, and was shocked, a tiny discount was offered, and the total cost was 441.00, that took less than 20 minutes. My issue is this - I called Gary and asked him about all of this and asked why wasn't I offered another solution to order the part which normally at any Home Depot, Lowes or on line the price is about 50.00. Which would have saved me almost 400.00. I am definitely not happy with the service or the tech that came out, he even tried to offer me a new motor for a total of over 800.00. It isn't even quiet. The tech just kept telling me my motor is old and I should get a new one. The tech also informed me when I purchased the garage doors and now they are more than double the price of what I paid. Not sure what all this had to do with getting a cable fixed on the garage door opener. Now, I just purchased another garage door opener - a Chamberlain MYQ with all the bells and whistles the whole unit, (with a motor 1/2 hp of course) for under 200.00, had it installed and it is much quieter than the one Precision put in. Having spend 441.00 of my money could have been avoided had the tech been a very honest and sincere person. I am 74 years old, senior, retired and party of one, felt like I was taken advantage of. Feel free to refund my full amount and take out the rail/cable that was not necessary and I'll get a whole new unit for half the price installed, and a more updated version. That's my problem solved. I can't say enough good things about Precision Door. One of our springs had broken, and I called Precision Door just before 2pm. They were able to schedule me a same-day appointment from 4-8pm. Technician, Ricky Sanchez, did a really good job. The existing unit was about 20 years old (install by you all) so without parts available the only choice was to replace the entire unit... such is life sometimes. Slight difference in the unit installed compared to the existing one yet nothing to be upset or concerned about.
