I am disappointed because I asked if i have to pay for the visit and estimate and you said no and the guy charged me 75

Response from Tim Yeager Business Owner

Hi, thank you for calling us to come and provide an estimate for your spring replacement. We are sorry to see that you feel you received 1 star service. We have listened to the call that you had on 8/11/23 with the call center for 7 minutes and 53 seconds. All of our calls are recorded so we can make sure all details and pertinent information is provided to the customer. The scheduler did instruct you around the 2:07 mark of the call about the $75.00 service fee for coming out and that it would be waived if you had the repairs done. She also advised you multiple times of the ballpark price of the springs and that it was a per spring price of anywhere from $126-$330. When she advised you of the estimated price over the phone, she was very adamant in telling you that the technician would give you the exact price after the inspection was done. You repeated this information back to her on more than one occasion. We strive very hard to provide 5 star service and if we do something wrong, we will make every attempt to fix it, but in this case, the scheduler did exactly as she is supposed to. If you would like to discuss this more, please feel free to reach out to the office and speak with the service manger. We can provide you with a copy of the recorded call if needed.

Buyer beware!!! This company came out less than a year ago and managed to sell us a garage rebuild that we spent over $1200 on that was supposed to have a 7 year warranty. I called them today and they said they no longer service our area. How can you sell us an expensive product with a 7 year warranty and then say it’s void less than a year later due to “not serving the area anymore”

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Please contact us and and ask to speak with a manger so we can look into this. We are unable to find your name in our system as its listed on this review, so an address or the name the account is under would be helpful. We definitely stand behind our work and any warranties we provide, so there must be a miscommunication at the scheduling department.

Thank you for taking time to write us a review. After speaking to the technician who was at your home, he admitted that once he left the property he forgot to tell the office to order the part and the day to return. We can not apologize enough for what occurred and it is certainly not standard practice. Please reach out if you are interested in further discussing the matter.

This place has no respect for your time or money. After setting up an appointment for garage repair. I was given the time slot 10am-12pm just for no technician to not show or call. I then called their office just to be told my appointment was 10am-2pm. When 2pm came still no call or show from tech. It took until 2:30pm for the tech to call me and say he will show up at 3pm. The tech shows takes a 3min look at my garage just to escalate the repair more. I was then charged $75 for a late appointment carving out my work schedule missing out on an opportunity with a client that cost me. Called their office with my concerns just to be placed on a long hold and told a manage will call me back. Never received a call from manager which cost them this review. Lucky for them I have YouTube page with 700k subscriber and will leave a review their to compensate for my time, money and awful service that was provided. Please save your time and money with this company and go elsewhere like “WeFixIt” and other surrounding companies that doesn’t still charge for late technicians to examine your garage.

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

We apologize for showing up about an hour late to your appointment window. We take customer service and satisfaction very seriously and apologize you felt your time was wasted. The manager who was being contacted by the call center was actually on vacation and the office was unaware of what was going on with your situation until the next morning. We were glad we were able to talk out the situation and come to a resolution and hope you give us another chance next time you need your garage door worked on or replaced.

I think i passed because the technician first said there is nothing he could do in the moment. He offered me a package of $1100 to which i said i would think about it and then he asked me if price was my concern. I said yes. He went back to his car and after a few minutes he came back with a proposal to do another tuning to the trolley and reprogramming the door. He quoted $150 for just that. I told him that I don’t want to move forward. He used a green can of lubricant which said do not use on garage tracks but he did use it on the tracks. The only reason i found out about this fine print because i took a picture of the container. I am sorry but I can’t recommend to anyone.

Response from Tim Yeager Business Owner

Hello Mr. Patel, we appreciate you taking the time to write a review concerning your experience, but we feel we must clarify a few items. You asked us to come out and address some loud noises your door was making and take a look at it to see what it would take to fix it. You have a heavy and out of balance door, and you have what is called a TMS tube which everything is built onto an assembly which is commonly used in new construction builds (springs, tube, cable drums are all built into this one assembly), therefore the only thing we can offer is to do a total rebuild as the tms system does not have replaceable individual parts like the system we would of installed for you. Also the parts we use are long life/high cycle and are designed to last 3 or 4 times as long as the standard builder grade parts that come with the manufacturer's doors. Your other issue you have is your garage door opener. The limits are set to start/stop at a certain point and they are going beyond those points causing the opener rail to push or pull on the door too far in the open and closed position which can damage door panels, the opener rail, and the chain to slack on the rail. The $150 quote was to reset all the settings in hopes that would fix it, lube, and do maintenance on the opener in an attempt to keep you from needing to replace it down the road and get it working properly for the time being. Regarding the lube, he did spray down all your parts including the rollers since they do not have a sealed bearing assembly. He sprayed the back of the rollers and not the entire track, but despite what the can of spray says, there is no harm in lube ending up on the track where the rollers travel. Please feel free to reach out should you have any other questions or need us in the future.

This place is a complete SCAM! Be aware!! They were going to try and charge us $1399.00 for a replacement of garage door spring system, most companies install the same system for less than $500! Do not use this place, please call around before calling them. The company we used told us they charge more so they can pay more for advertising! Even though it shows they’re #1 when you google, they are a SCAM!!They also charge a $75 show up fee when don’t do anything, most places will give free estimates. PLEASE take the time to call around first, DO NOT CALL THEM!!!

Buyer beware! I called ahead of time to ask how much it would cost to fix a broken spring on our garage door. They told me between $139-$289. So, I had them come out, thinking that the max we would pay would be $289. Our bill ended up being $722! The technician told me they always have to replace 2 springs together even though only 1 was broken (so it's double the cost they told me on the phone) PLUS a spring replacement requires a bracket replacement. If I had known it would be $722, I would have made several other phone calls to other places! I don't appreciate the lack of transparency in pricing, and found them to be very misleading.

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Thank you for providing your feedback. We understand you are unhappy with the pricing but we listened to your recorded call to make sure you were advised ahead of time of the estimated pricing PER spring, the service fee and that the technician would have to provide you an exact quote once he evaluated the door. Full transparency was provided and by advising you that the technician would have to provide the exact quote, there was no misleading. Once the technician evaluated the door, he provided all options and a very detailed explanation of what your door needed and even what would happen soon regarding parts that need replacing (that were declined). Your spouse chose to move forward with the provided recommendations and quote. At any point in time before approving the work, you or your spouse could have declined the service. The reason we (and most other companies) will not just replace one spring is they typically have the same life span and will need to be replaced very soon after if not done at the same time. It's also for the safety of our technician to not have to wind and rewind the spring that is old, as it can break in their face causing harm. If you have further questions or concerns, we would be happy to speak with you. Please don't hesitate to call and speak with our service manager. Thank you.

75 bucks just to come out? Yikes.

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Thank you for providing feedback. The service fee is a typical charge for most service companies. This covers things like the time of the technician to come out, gas, insurance, etc. If work was done, the service fee would have been waived. All of this is something our scheduling department informs a customer of at the time they make the appointment. We appreciate your consideration and please let us know if we can assist in the future.

I'm giving one star because it won't let me post with no stars. I wouldn't know how good their work is because they showed up ad told me they can't touch my garage door. I paid $75 dollars for that information. I called to dispute it and all they said was that I hold have told them what kind of garage door spring mechanism I had. I don't know anything about garage doors or I would have not wasted my time. They said they would have the manager call me but guess what? No one ever called. Oh and one more thing the mechanic that came out said that they get come out to like 10 calls like this a week. Stealing money if you ask me. I do not recommend!!

I have a garage broke and spoke to service person and he said tech will be at my house between 4 and 8 pm est today. When i did not hear back from their tech i called them back and they said ohh i am sorry they messed up the day. and no one can come unless its an emergency and they will charge me 150 for just tech to come out . It is there fault not mine and they should honor that but lady on service desk said sorry cant change the price. What a exceptional service I got. Will not call them again for any garage issue. Ee=ven I told he my garage door is damaged and cant close all i got was sorry. Thank you for such a disaster experience.

Five stars for the service rep. Professional, friendly, and fast. 1 star based on the fact I have to buy a keypad through precision and can't use one from the store. $75 visit fee which was not told to me over the phone. So if I decided I didn't want to spend $250 for a keypad I would still get charged $75. Very disappointed in this company and their billing practices. Get a garage door from somebody else so that you don't have to spend $250 to get a keypad if yours brakes.

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Thank you for your business and feedback. We are glad to see you were happy with the service Trevor provided, but we are sorry to see you weren't happy with the pricing he provided to you. The call center that handles our scheduling is who you spoke with first. They are supposed to advise you of the $75.00 service fee that will be charged if work is not performed, but would be waived if work is performed. This is a standard fee that almost all service companies charge. All of our calls are recorded so we listened. We apologize that she did not inform you of the fee as she should have and we will address that with the call center. The price of the Marantec keypad wasn't discussed on the call at all. The call center wouldn't have had the pricing for that key pad to provide even if you did ask because they aren't at the job site and wouldn't know what to offer you. As you mentioned in the call, a generic keypad will not work for your motor. We have to specifically order Marantec items to keep in stock to service customers like yourself who have that particular opener. Precision installed your door and opener 10 years ago which you selected with the old owners of the company. Unfortunately, your opener will not work with a universal keypad, but you could have ordered it straight from Marantec and installed/programmed it. We do have to charge a programming fee (which was part of the $250.00) to do this for customers unless it's under warranty, but your warranty was up. Again, we are sorry you're unhappy with the price and if you would like to discuss further, please call and speak with our service manager.

Five stars for the service rep. Professional, friendly, and fast. He did a great job. One star for the company. Was not told over the phone that a new garage door keypad to be installed would cost $250. Was also not told that I would get charged $75 just for the service rep showing up. Once he told me $250 I almost turned him away but then he said you're going to get charged $75 just for me showing up. Was told that it has to be a special type of keypad entry system and that I couldn't get one at the store. Would not recommend this company at this time. Very disappointed in their billing practices.

Would not recommend…high pressure to do repairs & when refused the technicians got an attitude. Do yourself a favor and spend your money with another company

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We definitely never want anyone to feel they received 1 star service. We feel like we should take this opportunity to explain the events that took place at your service call. We did speak to the technician about the events of the service call. You scheduled the appointment because your cables snapped which resulted in your door not being operable. Our technician came out and advised you it was a racked door (inoperable door) and he would have to at least get it operable so he could continue the 25 point inspection to see what other issues the door had. Now, the mistake on our technician's part was he should have stopped and explained at that moment, doing these things would be a flat charge you would have had to pay no matter if you wanted more work or not done. Instead he started doing what he and you discussed. While he was doing that, you went and called the company that actually installed your door, and as it was less than a year old, you still had a warranty with that company. You advised our technician to go ahead and stop and you would have the other company repair the door under warranty. You said you would only pay the service fee for him to come out, even though he had partially corrected your door problem. Per our technician, you advised him to make the door inoperable again since you weren't paying anymore than the 75.00 service fee. He did as he was asked and understandably, he was frustrated for undoing the work he did. While we would have loved to work with you, had you called the company that put the door in and scheduled your warranty work with them, you would have saved yourself the time, and our time slot for another customer. We hope you were able to get everything taken care of, but if not, please don't hesitate to call us.

Terrible. I would recommend setting expectations and keeping them. Service was scheduled from 2-4. Called at 4:30 told the guy is on his way. Called at 5:30 said he must be in traffic but definitely on the way. Called at 6:30 told he would call us right away but he must be around the corner. Sure enough got a call in just a couple of minutes from the tech. He just got the dispatch and he was 45 minutes away and wanted to make it in the morning. I declined will hire another company.

Response from Ashley Gammon, General Manager Business Owner

Thank you so much for providing feedback. We are very sorry that we dropped the ball on communicating with you properly. We certainly didn't mean to waste your time and inconvenience you. We will discuss this with the technician and make sure he is aware to stay on task and keep everyone updated if he is running behind, so we can move jobs and not keep customers waiting. We do appreciate you considering Precision to take care of your door needs.

I was quoted changing a spring for $140-$240; the service person came on time, told me it would be $249, I agree, then he tried to sell me the lubricating and service the roller for another 200, and the highest package of over 600 with probably 5-7 years warranty, I declined, he was visually disappointed, saying that only changing a spring would only have 2-3 months warranty. With my house only around five years old, everything are good and no need for extra. Then he showed me two springs, saying the 249 for 10,000 cycles spring, and the 25000 cycles for 299 plus tax. I agreed; then he gave me a receipt with 0 warranty. He is really a salesperson for sure, he said if you pays more for additional work, you will have more warranty. But who like a company offers no warranty of their work with more than three hundreds dollars? And who knows whether he did a right thing or purposely leave it easily to be broken in a short time ?

So expensive it'll make your eyes water. I had my garage door opener break and was charged $2,360 for replacement parts and a new garage opener. This seemed wildly expensive so I emailed customer support asking for an itemized receipt but it's been two weeks and I never heard back. Just for reference, I looked up the model number of the opener they sold me and it retails for $336 (keep in mind that's customer retail so they'd get it cheaper with a reseller agreement) and they charged me $1000 for the same model! The door now works, but I'd recommend shopping around for a company that won't take advantage of you.

I would not use Precision Door Service again. One of the torsion springs broke on our overhead double door. Precision Door Service charged us $750 to replace the pair of springs, which took the technician less than 40-minutes total. When I questioned/ pushed back on the cost, which was about 2x what I expected, the technician told me the springs cost them over $250 each! I later called four other garage door businesses and learned the going rate for this common repair averages $375 total, and our standard springs cost around $100 each. After calling Friday morning, they refunded me $350 to bring their cost in line. I learned from my calling around that this is an often repeated scenario with this company - and the ease and routine manner of the refund bore this out.

I’m not happy at all. I called Precision thinking I would pay the $75 trip charge and would get my garage door motor fixed, but was told it would cost me $149 to put in a new circuit board because I had already ordered it straight from Liftmaster and their were no guarantees it would work. They said I could pay $600+ for a new garage door motor with a 4 year guarantee, so I just paid the $75 trip charge and did it myself. The commercial for Precision looks grea and professional, but I wasn’t impressed with the customer service I received.

The technician did not even open or close the garage door, to check it. Instead, his attempt was only to upsell. Telling us that we should replace the entire garage door! & that even if he repairs whatever he was trying to sell us, the engine was going to die! Not surprising, the technican did not notice the obvious, our springs need replacing & a roller was missing. Precision Door Service charged us $75, to show up & upsell. No work done, no services rendered. We then used another company, in Fayetteville, that charges customers only for work preformed.

I scheduled technician for my garage door opener motor setting. Since I played with it earlier because door keep on opening itself and sometime just not get full close. He came and look at my garage door and told me to change its spring. Although spring was not broken or it might need some basic service. He told me to change spring that will cost $1300. I asked him first please look for motor setting since spring was not broken. But he refused to touch the motor. He played smart for half an hour. He told me, he will do it for me for $1000. I said still it is too much. I have to pay him $75 for nothing. Next day I called other garage door company. Other company told me spring is ok. If I still need to change it. He gonna charge $550 for the same spring that precision door technician was offering with out taking any money for estimate. I am very disappointed with the precision company, looks like scammer. WITH this review I ask you guys to return my $75. I will never recommend this company. Thanks

I was subjected to a sales pitch that I consideted very low class. I had an unused torsion bar already at my house and was told that it could not be used. The installers must have assumed me to ignorant and not have any idea about they were attempting to do.I sent them packing and got my problem fixed for 1/4 of the price they quoted. Shameful !!!

Service: General repairs & installation
