The tech came out and said my opener needed to be completely replaced and needed to add another spring to my system. Charging around $1500 total. After resting the system and re syncing my remotes after looking it up on YouTube the system is working perfectly. They send salesmen not techs. Would not recommend.

I was charged $972.00 for a guarage repair. All I needed was new springs and a motor.

They use a call center that has no idea about garage doors and would not let me talk to a tech to ask for advice on what I should do or recommendations very poor customer service
We are very sorry to hear you did not have a good experience with the call center. Unfortunately, they are not trained technicians so their knowledge is very limited which is why you are able to make an appointment for our trained technicians to come to your home and evaluate your garage door. We would love to help you, so please if you need us, call back and schedule an appointment.

Quick service but way over priced. They charged 587.00 for two springs and took tech less then a hour. Springs cost about 40.00 . Buyer beware !
Thank you for your business and sharing your input about the service received. We are happy we could help service your door before you sell your home. You did purchase 2 springs which are heavy duty, high cycle springs. Not all springs are equal so something you might search online, might not be the same quality as what we provide our customers. Your technician is very experienced so he is able to perform his job efficiently and that keeps him on schedule for all of our customers. We do understand the price can be a concern for customers, so we want you to always remember that you have the option to get multiple quotes from multiple companies. Our pricing is competitive and we try to work with everyone the best we can. Good luck with your sale and please let us know if we can assist you in the future.

Seems a bit sketchy. Tech said he doesn’t get paid unless we go for the $129 fee to, not fix, but put lube on the joints to stop the screeching. Then he then shares how much the truck costs and that he only gets 11 mpg. Needless to say we gave him a cash tip…not at all comfortable with the visit.

Just needed the spring replaced an internet search gave me a range of 180-350. They wanted $1,499! This company is outrageously over priced! Would NOT recommend

It was explained to me I have a Wayne Dalton system and it would cost $1,300 to replace my springs and I would come out cheaper to call Wayne Dalton. I called Wayne Dalton made an appointment and was quoted a price of $450.00 for repair. Wayne Dalton has their own patented system. If you have a Wayne Dalton door installed and don't want to convert for $1,300 call Wayne Dalton. I was charged a service fee of $40.61

This company is a absolute rip off.. i recommend calling around and getting quotes from other companies.. this company is full of people who will overprice you without caring .. they are dishonest they try and sell you parts you don’t need.. my safety eyes were out of line and they tryed to sell me a new door.. there prices for a rebuild are insane .. other companies i get quotes of anywhere between 7 to 999. This company tryed to charge me 1600.. in my estimation there dirty and will overcharge you for items you don’t need .. make sure if u call them to stay around them in your garage because they will do things to make you seem you need something when u don’t .. if I could give them a 0 stars I would .. there is no place in the service industry for scammers like precision garage doors .. stay away from them if you want to keep your money
We would love to discuss this with you further. We've searched our system for your name to review your appointment and to call you, but there is no Justin Smith in our system for the year 2022 that had an appointment. Please reach out to us and ask to speak with our service manager. Precision is a very reputable company and the satisfaction of our customers is a top priority. If we weren't a good company, we wouldn't have all of the 5 star reviews that we do from happy customers for all of our locations. If there was a specific problem that took place at your home, we want to get to the bottom of it so please reach out to us.

Had a technician come to fix springs of garage door. He came on time and was nice. Our current garage door spring is torque master plus. He recommended replace springs with other type likely torsion system with a quote total $1200 after discount!!!! Googled the cost for conversion the system and it is around $400! There is no way we should pay $1200!!!
We are very sorry to see that you feel like you received 1 star service because of the pricing. We would love to answer any questions that you might have as to why the pricing is so different. Please make sure when you compare the prices of the springs, you are comparing identical springs from both companies. Of course if you order some online, you would have to pay for the parts, plus labor and shipping, so that would be added into your cost. Our service would also come with a warranty for both parts and labor. We wish we could have worked with you, but we completely understand the hesitation because of the price. Please don't hesitate to call if we can assist you in the future.

$75 to just get a quote of a possible repair. NO THANKS
We are sorry to see you're unhappy with the service fee that is charged. Most companies that you call to perform work at your home will charge a service fee regardless if work is done or not. We waive our service fee if you decide to have us repair your garage door. This is discussed when you schedule your appointment. We tried to search your name so we could listen to the recorded call to make sure the call center did in fact tell you about the service fee, and if they didn't, we want to make sure they are doing that so it isn't a surprise. With just your first name and last initial, there is no account to pull up for us to review the call. Companies typically charge a small service fee so they are able to compensate for the time slot taken, the time of the employee, the money it takes to maintain the trucks, gas, insurance, etc. If you would like to speak with us further about this, please call our office and we can discuss it. We do appreciate you considering Precision for your garage door needs.

Precision’s price was way too expensive. I would never use them again. How is it that the same exact service to replace a spring on a garage door cost only $200-400 at another repair company, but costs double here? I hope the garage door holds up for how much we paid.
We are sorry that you did not receive a five star experience with us. We would love to review your account to see what door issues you had, the quotes provided and which quote you agreed on for the work to be completed, but we can not pull up your account with the initials provided. Please feel free to reach out to us and ask for our service manager so we can review this matter further. At that time, he can answer any questions about pricing and why prices vary at different companies. We never want our customers to feel like they have over paid. We strive to make all of our customers happy and provide the highest quality service and parts that we can. Thank you for your business and please call with any questions.

On December 3 Precision Overhead Doors came out to my house and gave me a quote to replace the broken springs on my garage door (2 car door). They explained that as a part of repairing the springs, they had to rebuild the torque tube and it would cost $1,170. I thought that was high so I asked, is that the best you can do. They said yes. I’m not in the garage repair business, so I trusted what the rep said. He finished the job in just about an hour and a half or so. The next day I talked to my dad and called the company who was due to come out that Monday. They both told me, that I got overcharged by a lot! Both said the job shouldn’t have exceeded $400 max. The other company even went so far as to say, I was the fourth or fifth person they had heard this from regarding Precision Doors. I then did more research and saw that $400 was about the right price. I reached out the rep who did my service and let him know how unhappy I was and asked for a partial refund. He said no, then when I provided credible challenge, he said I’m just a worker I don’t determine pricing. He said he would have his boss call me, haven’t heard from him. My next step is to engage the States Attorney’s office and the Better Business Bureau.

Ripped off. Charged $700 for replacing two springs and rollers, which others are charging $300-400. Made mistake of not getting quotes from others as I did not want to call others because of COVID-19. This people are taking advantage of situations. Will never work with Precision and will never recommend to others.
Thank you for your business and taking the time to provide feedback about your experience. We are sorry you feel as though you were ripped off and did not receive five star service. We never want our customers to feel like they were overcharged. When our technician comes out to inspect your door, they provide you with quotes of the cost to repair your door. We never do any work before the quote is explained and customers have time to ask any questions, whether it be about the price, parts, warranty, etc, which is when you could have voiced your concern about the price. You did approve the work and the price when it was discussed with you and that price included 2 heavy duty, high cycle, powder coated springs, 10 rollers and a 5 year warranty on parts with a 1 year warranty on labor. Our prices are competitive with other companies, when you actually compare the same products and warranty when you obtain other quotes. We have different types of springs which all have different costs, and most other companies would have the same, so calling and just asking for a price and not for a price to match exactly what you got, would not provide you with accurate information. We are a reputable company which you can see from our many 5 star reviews, and we would never take advantage of a customer. We do appreciate your business and if you have further questions about your service, please call our service manager.

Do not use this company! They came out and quoted 7 times more what another company charged me. I basically could of gotten a whole new garage door for what they were charging. I was nice and emailed them to try to discuss the situation, it has been a week with no response. That is the only reason I am giving the review. Glad I went with there competitor.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback about your experience. Customer satisfaction is our top goal and we want all of our customers to receive 5 star service from start to finish, no matter if we just come out for an estimate or repair/replace your door. We are sorry you felt like you received 1 star service from us. You mentioned that you sent an email and we apologize that no one responded, it might have gone to one of our "no reply" emails by accident, as that can happen. We did review your account to look over the quotes you were given. The quotes given were based on a 25 point inspection that we complete on every call we go on. Your door failed 12 items on that inspection list and the quotes given were to repair/replace the failed items to make your door operate as it should. We install heavy duty, high cycle quality parts and even though other companies might be cheaper, you have to compare the quotes exactly the same (quality of parts used, experience, warranties included, etc). We hate that we were not able to earn your business and we hope that you were able to get your door needs taken care of by the other company. If we can assist you in the future, please don't hesitate to call us.

our garage door literally fell out of the track and landed on our car. I called precision because they installed it and calmly explained how dangerous this was. the first rep wanted $150 extra in top of the normal fee to come out after hours. when I told her I needed to talk to a manager to explain why I didn't think I should have to pay she hung up on me midsentence. the second time I called the rep connected me with a manager, Sean from the Atlanta corporate office , who cut me off before I could explain what happened. he then yelled "it's never the customer's fault! no one ever does anything wrong!". In the end he apologized, listened to what happened and actually gave a reasonable explanation for why he thought the problem was the fault of whoever built the garage, however getting to a point where someone would listen was such a headache I told them I'd look for someone else to repair the garage
We are very sorry you feel like you received one star service from the phone conversations you had and that you were disconnected with the call center. We strive for all of our customers to have a five star experience every time they receive service from us. We do fully understand your frustration with the unfortunate event of your H-casing pulling off the wall and making your door fall. After doing some research and speaking with the call center and Sean, we did offer appointments to come out and fix the door for you. We offered appointment times during normal business hours so that you would not have had the emergency after hours fee and of when you called, you were offered the first available time which was after hours and that does include the after hours fee. It is very typical for service companies to charge emergency fees for services needed after hours as that fee goes to the technicians that are pulled away to go out during late evening hours. We are glad that Sean was able to explain to you in detail why this door issue wasn't under warranty, as you would be a new customer with Precision and our warranties do not transfer from homeowner to homeowner. The previous homeowner did not elect for us to replace the home's original H-casing with a new one when we installed the garage door three years ago. We wish we could have come to a solution with you, but since we couldn't, we completely understand you calling another company. If we can assist you in the future, please don't hesitate to call, as we would love the opportunity to show that customer satisfaction is the top goal of our company.

I’m very disappointed that you would not fix only the broken spring on our garage door. The other was replaced last year. When I called I was told $188 or around there knowing only one was broken. Would not repair unless both springs are replaced. $617 SCAM
Thank you for your providing feedback about your experience with our company. After speaking with the technician about your job, he stated he spoke with your husband in great detail about the reason both springs needed to be replaced and that the spring you are referring to, was the wrong size for the door. It is our company policy that all springs on the door get replaced after one breaks. The reason for this is because of safety concerns for the technician and the longevity of the door. We are sorry you feel that you were scammed but this was not the case. We have a standard to uphold and make sure your door is safe and works as it should. Having the wrong spring on your door is a safety concern and we are glad that the technician was able to discuss this with your husband and make it right. We do appreciate your business and if we can assist you in the future, please don't hesitate to call.

Yeah, with out even trying to open the door. The quote was $800 for a spring replacement from Precision. So, I just paid the $75 fee and got a quote from Wayne Dalton and they replaced it for $350. I know I live in Cary, but just because I'm well off doesn't mean I'm stupid with my money.
We have reviewed your account and the 25 point safety inspection which showed your spring, cable and the door balance all failed inspection. We are certainly glad the technician did not try to open your door with a broken spring as the spring is the counterbalance and the muscle of the door. The technician could be seriously injured in an attempt to do so. We are sorry you felt our price was unfair but to imply that we only quoted you a particular price because of where you live, is completely inaccurate and that is not how we treat customers. We service all of our customers equally no matter what zip code they live in or what their home might make one believe they have in their bank account. As you said, you could go to the manufacturer and get the parts cheaper but unfortunately, we cannot sell parts and install them for the price we buy them for. Thanks for your consideration in using our service.

Son in law couldn’t open garage door while we were out of country. Said he may have hit the # sign instead of enter Sign and wondered if he somehow changed code. I had no idea how to change code. The pad worked to close door but just would not work to open with code. Was hoping since I was a long time customer you might have suggested how to check the code or change it back if it had been changed by mistake. Technician looked at it and said the pad looked old and they wear out quickly. But the new one would work with any new motor if we needed one later. Made it sound like a better pad. I said ok to new pad and was totally surprised when the replacement was the exact same as old one and when he told me how to put in the code, he told me to do the exact thing that I told him my son in law said he had done that might have changed the code. So he up sold me to the tune of $284 when he could have simply said try this and see if it works. Give him a star for the up sale, but mark me off as a future customer and I will tell as many people about this as I possibly can. Totally feel victimized!!!!’
Thank you so much for reaching out and we are very sorry you feel victimized. Our goal is customer satisfaction and for each customer to receive five star service, and we hate we missed the mark with you. Based on the inspection your keypad failed and the recommendation was to replace it. Some keypads we have look the same as the old one but the updated version has updated internal parts that the old one did not, which would, like the technician said, make it work with any future motors you might purchase. We do appreciate your business and hope we can work with you in the future.

I contacted Precision Garage Door at the # listed in my area and was given an appointment for a technician to come out. I had already determined the problem was a broken spring on my 16' door. I told the person that answered the phone that I needed a spring replaced. I guess that is where I went wrong to the tune of a $75, no service, service call. I should have just asked for a free estimate instead of giving them a heads up on the problem. The technician was courteous and prompt and I do not fault him for the lame business policy/practices of Precision Garage Door. To be clear, the technician never touched my door! He did measure the size and then started giving me the bad news. $500 to replace both springs, he said I also needed a new bar that the springs attach to and also new wheels that contain the bearings on each side. They offer a "tune up" on your door for $899. To replace the door with new hardware and using my existing lift motor would be $3K!!! I asked to see some of the doors they offered and he went back to his vehicle and returned with 2 sheets of door info. He said he had talked to his manager and if I replaced the springs now, to get me operating, they would give me partial credit on a new door if I agreed to have it done within the next couple of months. I told him I wanted to think about it. At that time, he said he needed to collect a $75 service call fee. I reminded him that he performed NO service and I did not feel that I owed him for a service call, as he really only quoted me what I felt were exorbitant prices. He said the $75 would be taken off any future work. I paid the fee reluctantly, as it was not this young mans policy, but a poor customer service structure of this company. I was informed of the $75 service fee when I called BUT I did not feel I should be obligated to pay when no service was involved. I called another local company, recommended to me by 2 of my neighbors, and he fixed my problem for a fraction of what Precision wanted. I am very dissatisfied with Precision, I feel like I was taken for $75 for absolutely no service and not even a written estimate for a new door. I will tell everyone I know with a garage door, NEVER call Precision Garage Door!!! If I could rate them with "Negative" Stars that is what I would do.
Thank you for leaving this feedback. We do appreciate any comments, good or bad from customers so we can either explain what might have happened, fix an issue on our end, or use it as a training tool in the future. The scheduler on the phone certainly could have given you a price per spring to get them replaced but that would have been all they could provide as they aren't there at the home. A technician is sent out to do an evaluation of the door and spring system and also perform a 25 point inspection. After reviewing the inspection report, it shows several components failed, therefore he recommended a rebuild of your system, but also gave the option to just replace two springs. Three quotes are almost always given to a customer, one being the service fee. The service fee is something a customer is informed of when they call to make an appointment, as you mentioned, this was the case in your call. Like us, most service companies will charge a service fee no matter if work was done or not. This fee is charged to help cover the many things customers do not see, such as gas, truck maintenance, the time of the technician, insurances, etc. We are sorry we were not able to take care of your garage door needs but we hope this better explains the service fee for you.

I don't recommend Precision Garage Door Service. When I called to make an appointment for service, I was not told that they can not get parts for Wayne Dalton brand. So, I was told I may need logic board but since we don't fix Wayne Dalton. You need to complete a new garage door opener. If I know they don't support or fix Wayne Dalton I won't even go with this company. Make sure they support your brand before making an appointment.
We are sorry for the confusion. We do in fact work on Wayne Dalton doors not motors. If in the future you need service on your door, we would love to earn your business.

The technician from Precision said my garage panel needed to replaced and gave me an estimate of $1400. When I asked him whether it could be fixed without replacement he said no - that wasn't possible. Well luckily I called Garage door specialists, and their technician was able to fix my door without replacing any panel - just for $90 !! So to folks out there - I would advise to get a second opinion before going with Precision.

Unable to keep appointment
Ms. Jordan, I have investigated this situation in an effort to be sure this doesn't happen again. You were given an arrival window of 6-8 pm. The technician got tied up on a job prior to yours and called you to let you know he would be arriving in the later part of that time frame. At that point you decided to cancel your appointment rather than risk having the technician arrive later than you had planned. Your decision is completely understandable! However, I feel that we did our best to keep you informed and keep the lines of communication open rather than to make you wait without knowing what was happening. I hope you understand that from time to time a job takes longer than expected, and all we can do is keep our customers informed and give them the opportunity to cancel or reschedule. In your case, we did exactly that. Please let me know if you have further concerns and I will work to address them. Of course, if we can help with any future garage door needs, please contact us. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback! Best regards, Michelle Moss, President

Precision garage door came to our house to change out the broken spring we had. The door was still functioning with one broken spring. The pros about their service is that they have excellent response time. Infact for us they came on the same day which we really appreciated. Second pro is that they are really quick in getting the job done. On the cons side watch out on the pricing the technician is giving you for the parts. Our job was a $680 job and when I did some research I realized that I was waaaaay over charged for the parts. How can each spring be $165 and each roller be $21. Price on Amazon for similar parts which come with a lifetime warranty is $130 for a set of 2 springs and the tools needed to change them. Set of 10 rollers is under $40 and not the $210 that they charged me. If they stop the price gouging on parts I would give them a 5 star rating but I feel paying 500% more for rollers and almost 250% more for springs is out of line on good business practices.
Thank you for your kind words about our response time and the professionalism of our technicians. I'm sorry you feel you were overcharged for the parts. Many items can be purchased less expensively online, but changing springs and rollers on a garage door is very dangerous and should be left to a trained professional. Our technician was able to get the job done safely and quickly because it's what he does for a living. Naturally, you will pay a little more for that level of service. Our warranties are the most comprehensive in the industry, and should you have any issues at all you can be confident that we will respond as quickly and professionally as we did the first time. We appreciate your business, and wish you all the best. Michelle Cromwell, President and Owner

Maybe they have good service and response time, but watch out for their price gouging especially on parts!!
I'm very sorry to hear you believe our pricing to be unfair. We are certified by the International Door Association and abide by its code of conduct, which includes fair pricing. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give you an estimate for the work, and I hope you were able to get it done to your satisfaction. Best regards, Michelle Cromwell, Owner and President

I called Precision because I saw the 5 Star rating and the good reviews. When I made the appt. I explained that very recently every couple of days, my door would not fully close. There was no issue with it opening. It would do this a couple of times then resume normally. When the technician arrived, he operated the door but unfortunately could not replicate the issue I was having. The door opened and closed without issue. So, he began adjusting the limit switches on the motor to the point where the door would not fully open or close. Then he began to loosen and tighten the chain to no avail. He also checked for "dust" on the top of the motor near the bearing but said it was ok. He repeatedly tried opening and closing the door again to no avail. He said he had not seen this issue before now. He then made a call to his Superior. What he told me was that his Superior asked him to check for dust again and this time he found dust on top of the area near the gear box and bearing. He told me that the part would cost about $200, IF that was the issue. Then he said his Superior told him that it could possibly be the mother board in the motor. That would also be about $200, IF that was the issue OR it may be Both the Gear/Bearing issue AND the Board issue. Then he explained that getting an entirely new system would be not much more than the "combo" repair. $670. He continued multiple times to make the same adjustments as before until the door and motor had stopped working completely. He felt the bottom of the motor and said that it was hot and that if a motor gets too hot then it would stop working. Duh, Seriously?? Garage doors probably aren't supposed to be worked that hard that fast. I am sure that the dozens of times he opened and closed the door consecutively in a short span of time did not help and did wear down the gears and motor. My door was working for the most part before he arrived and now it would not work at all. I was totally perplexed and taken back. I was at a loss for words for a moment. He then showed me the quotes for the "3" types of repairs, 2 of which "might" fix the problem as I was told. I was asked to initial his ipad saying that his work here was complete. THAT was a huge mistake on my part. To my discouragement, I had to manually close my door when he left. So, I called the next day and explained what happened yesterday and the very polite and professional lady said they were going to send out a different technician today between 4 and 6pm. The new technician Cody, who was also polite and professional, called prior to arriving and asked me about the issues with the door. I explained the door issues and what the technician did yesterday. He told me that he would be glad to come out and repair the door but that it truly sounded like it would need a new system and that the company would ask for payment immediately once the work was done. I told him I completely understood the billing process and I was not going to make him the "middle man" with my broken door system. I cancelled his appt. Next I received an email to ask for a review on my service. At the bottom of the email, it says that if anything was unsatisfactory, email Michelle Cromwell directly. I emailed her and explained everything in detail and asked her for her advice and/or help with my situation. I put my phone number in the email as well. It has been over a week with NO REPLY from her. I called 2 days ago and was told they would send a message to her to please contact me about my issue. 24hrs later, No response. So, I called back and the "Manager" told the operator to tell me they were waiting for Ms. Cromwell to them what to do about it. I asked to speak to the Manager and was told that he/she "just left for a meeting". People make mistakes and people are busy. I get that. It happens. But evidently in my case, to totally disregard my repeated requests for contact, I going out on a limb and saying that Accountability and Customer Service are a Zero Priority with Ms. Cromwell and Precision when something goes wrong. Good Luck!
Mr. Crumpler, There are truly no words to say how sorry I am about how this whole situation was handled all the way around. I was indeed out of the office, and I was indeed crazy busy during this time. However, I should have seen to it that your issues and concerns were addressed promptly. I truly regret that our dedication to customer service was not evident in our dealings with you. I am ultimately accountable for this breakdown, and I take full responsibility. Please know that I and my team will learn from what went wrong here to ensure that it doesn't happen again. If I can be of service to you in any way, please don't hesitate to contact me. Best regards, Michelle Cromwell President

If you want to pay for someone to tell you you need a new $500+ door opener then call these guys. I paid a service fee just to have a guy come by and without even taking a look at the opener say it needs replaced. I could also have it 'rebuilt' for the same price as a new garage door opener would have been w/ any other company. Had another company take a look today and the guy fixed the garage door opener in 5 minutes, no rebuild or new motor was needed. Don't be fooled by these guys and don't pay a service fee, they WILL NOT fix your door, they're just in the business of selling you a new opener whether it's fixable or not.
