Their website promises upfront quote - NO SURPRSES. I called them for my door that had come off tracks. The tech quoted me $150 for repair & $75 for service call. I had a coupon for free service call. So he decided to up the price. It was $150-200 next, Then he apparently found a broken part so it was $350-400 now. Garage door parts are very visible & if there is a broken part, an experienced tech can see immediately & that should have been included in the initial quote. I believe he lied to extort more out of me. The final bill was another surprise at $421. Not only that after doing the repair he wanted an additional $59 for tuning to check that the door is working properly & safely. He said, else he could not test the door. That infuriated me & I put my foot down at that point. . It would be like a car garage that charged you for changing the brake pads, but then demands extra money to test the safety of those brakes. In fairness to the company, they called me within 12 hours after I posted a complaint & they refunded the disputed amount. However I am posting this here because they did not seem to see that the tech had acted improperly & also because the company charges between 600% to 1200% markup on parts & that is OK with them. Just beware!!!

I was satisfied with the service. Although, very dissatisfied with the amount changed. I installed a high-end LiftMaster Secure+ opener because the old opener was 21 years old and having problems. I obtained the new opener from my brother-in-law's independent garage door company, out of state. I removed the old unit, replaced it with new, replaced old sensors and ran all new wires for the secure+ sensors. It was 99.9% complete. I spent a couple of hours trying to get the door's LIMIT's to set, although was unable to do so. I even used Facetime to obtain assistance from my brother-in-law. He was unable to determine what was wrong. While it was a thorn in my side, I went outside for help. Precision door offered a coupon for $39.95 service call. Spoke to inside sales and scheduled appt. Although, I was informed that I may (if needed) have to pay for parts and labor. There were no parts needed and the technician was there a total of 42 minutes. Some of the time was used to check other things like rollers, track, springs, as well as the door itself, and the time necessary to fill out the paperwork. My, 25 year-old, Daughter was there to grant the technician access and make payment. She paid with a pre-signed personal check. I was charged the$ 39.95 for the service call plus $150.00 for a total of $189.95 for the technician to adjust the door limits, replace the 2 end-covers (5 small screws each), and the motor cover (4 screws). The invoice read: "INSTALL NEW OPENER" $150.00. I could not believe it. I spoke with the inside rep. She called me back, left messages, and checked with the technician. I really thought she understood that the opener was already 99.9% installed. The technician said there was more to do that just setting the limits. Yes, he was correct... he had to replace 14 screws. I guess I learned a lesson; I should have been there to say, "You cannot be serious about this price." Live and learn. But remember, one unhappy customer, discredits 10 that are satisfied. –end-

If you want to pay for someone to tell you you need a new $500+ door opener then call these guys. I paid a service fee just to have a guy come by and without even taking a look at the opener say it needs replaced. I could also have it 'rebuilt' for the same price as a new garage door opener would have been w/ any other company. Had another company take a look today and the guy fixed the garage door opener in 5 minutes, no rebuild or new motor was needed. Don't be fooled by these guys and don't pay a service fee, they WILL NOT fix your door, they're just in the business of selling you a new opener whether it's fixable or not.
