Called for service for a broken "torsion" spring which rendered the door inoperable (the door weighs about 150 lb without the spring). "Precision" installed the door in 2015 and it has worked flawlessly until the spring broke. We've "Precision Garage Door Service of Raleigh" The office scheduled an appointment for repair the next day which Technician Tim Mcrae accomplished in about an hour. The technician performed an overall safety inspection on all the door components before letting us know the work was complete. The garage door is again quiet and smooth running! The technician, Tim, was experienced and very professional and we will continue to call on the services of Precision Garage Door Service of Raleigh when needed in the future. Thank you!

I was not planning on leaving a review, since I was not happy with service but it wasn’t outrageously bad either. However the constant nagging to leave a review that I’ve received via both email and text daily finally wore me down to write one. The good news is that they have availability. I called in the morning and they came that afternoon. It’s only been a few days, but so far the repair is holding up, so no complaints about quality of work. However, when I called the customer service person agreed with my guess of the problem being a broken spring. They asked a few questions about the garage, and booked the appointment. When I asked how much springs would cost, she said $265. When the tech arrived, he kept going on about everything being “builder grade”. He had an estimate ready within just a few minutes of arriving. It was nearly $3k! When I was so surprised, he went on to build a quote for an entirely new door and system (the house is only a few years old, no issues with the door just a broken spring) to show that if I bought a whole new door it would be so much more. I don’t see the value in price comparing to something not needed. I asked if there was anything we could do, like types of springs or anything. I was finally able to get him to explain the reason for each line item in his estimate, but he didn’t have any changes to recommend to help the situation. It wasn’t until I specifically asked if items actually needed to be replaced (such as rollers). He reluctantly said they didn’t need to be replaced and are still fully operational. When I pressed on how much life expectancy the rollers have, he admitted they have 75-80 percent life left, and he could remove the over $400 line item. After the repair he pointed to where to lubricate the springs and hinges, and told me to order it on Amazon. When I asked if he did the lubrication while replacing, he said no but I could purchase a service for him to do so (I did not). I’ve used a different location of Precision multiple times over the years and had been satisfied, but this experience was quite different. I will not use this location (triangle area NC) again.

I will be honest and say that Precision was not the first company I called when I realized I had a problem. I called one of the really known companies in town, but after waiting on hold for over five minutes, I hung up and called. I was very surprised and pleased that I was able to have someone come out the same day! Ryan was very prompt, professional and competent. He thoroughly explained what he was doing, the issue and the plan for repair. My garage now opens very quietly and are as good as new! I would highly recommend Precision Garage Door Service.
