Scotty Johnson came out and explained our repair options clearly and made his recommendation. He completed the work quickly on the same day. Our super noisy garage door is now much quieter and runs much smoother; however, four days later a spring broke and our door would not lift or lower. It seems like this issue was imminent and should have been brought to our attention during the original visit. We called Precision and they were not going to come back until the next day and they were going to charge us a $200 fee for a weekend “emergency” visit as well as a $95 diagnostic fee on top of whatever it was going to cost to complete the repair. We were able to find someone else who came out same day and replaced the springs. He said Precision knows what they are doing as far as repairs go, but they are famous for charging very high prices. His quote for fixing everything we had Precision fix during the original visit was over $1000 cheaper than what we paid. We had been loyal Precision customers but we do not plan to return now after this lack of customer service/unethical billing practices. *Edited to add that we were happy with Scotty’s work - the issue was with the call center people who were totally unwilling to work with me on waiving the emergency visit fee when we were stranded in the garage and I am 8 months pregnant. A manager from the local branch called me back after seeing my review and attempted to make things right but we have found a new garage door company now that we plan to use for needs outside of our warranty products that we had installed by Precision during the original visit. I appreciated the call and attempt to better understand the issue and make things right, but the call center people definitely need some training to understand that there may be some exceptions to every rule.

I sent an email Thursday morning, shortly after my garage door spring popped. 20 minutes later, I got a phone call, to schedule for Friday morning. Friday morning, I was ready to replace the whole system; I am not very knowledgeable on garage doors and their hardware..Andy was prompt, friendly, and shared his professional opinion on my garage door's life, in which he recommended only replacing the springs. Andy replaced the springs for me in 30 minutes, and my garage door works better than it has in the ownership of my home. All in all, my 5 star review consists of a few things, Andy's honesty for what my system needed vs didn't need, the speed of service, and the friendliness of service. I recommend Precision Garage Door of the Triangle to anyone. 5/5. An update, years later, we had some issues with our garage door opener’s belt. I scheduled for a Sunday — Chris arrived on time, immediately identified the problem, went through the whole system, and had it fixed within an hour. Again, amazing service.
