The hinge on our garage door broke and we had to manually close and open it. We called Precision and they came out the very next day. They assessed the issue and showed us our options, which we appreciated. They also reinforced the other loose hardware that we didn’t realize were loosed. Firstly they were able ti make it the same day and arrived early. Secondly Richard was awesome; friendly, good convo and explained what could be done: lastly, he could have tried to rip me off; but he didnt. He did the maintenance on it but the cost wasnt insane. Our home was built in 1994. It had a Genie chain drive garage door opener. After 29 years of noisy but dependable service, we selected Precision to upgrade the system with a Lift Master top of the line belt drive unit. For a premium price, it provided very quiet service and came with a warranty. One year later, it quit working. The service technician quickly identified the problem as a broken or defective wire. No problem, all the wiring was replaced within 30 minutes and I was given a bill for $203. It turns out the installer used the previous 29 year old wiring when upgrading to the new system. Apparently, this a common problem when replacing garage door openers. No warranty credit. Suggestion: When replacing units, replace the wiring and warranty the work. It is a minimal cost item and only takes a few minutes to accomplish. It will also improve customer relations. Both of the service techs were courteous, qualified and efficient.
