PGDS is well-organized and responsive. Their answering service picked up, and a technician arrived promptly on a Sunday afternoon. He was professional, polite, efficient, and informative. After one extension spring broke on our single-car Clopay door, they quoted about $1,400 to convert it to a torsion system, or over $2,000 for a new door. The door is about 30 years old, but in very good condition, so we wanted to keep it and replace the springs. We appreciated the prompt, professional service, but we wish they had offered a straightforward repair. We left with the impression that replacing the extension springs wasn’t possible because the parts were unavailable. Another company replaced both springs while keeping the existing system and door for about a thousand less.

Rick, the technician, was great, professional, very efficient and arrived earlier than expected. I’m a bit soured on how the price of the spring and installation went from a emailed quoted price of $262 to my actual cost of $464. The spring that was replaced can be purchased on line for $34 to around $75. Rick took all of about 15 minutes to complete the installation. So, in total I would estimate that the total time on site was around an hour. Unhappy with the inflated cost. I shouldn’t have been so lazy and should have replaced the spring myself.

Shop around! A spring on my garage door broke and I had to have it replaced quickly. They came that day and the work seems to be of good quality, but since the repair, I have called around and they seem to be priced significantly higher than all competitors.

I had the tune up package done on my 18' Wayne Dolton garage door. New rollers were installed and the door was greased and balanced. Unfortunately the technician could not change my lower rubber door seal due to it being a Wayne Dolton door (strange). So I will be going directly to a Wayne Dolton technician for that. While the price at Precision is always the highest in the area, the work , service, quality is also one of the highest in the area.

I had a technician come in March, 2026 and was told the rollers needed to be replaced in my 10 year old garage door. It was “dragging” and making quite a bit of noise. Cost me $600. Just last week, July 3, 2026 it started jamming and it took several times using remote or panel to get the door to close. On July 7, 2026, a different technician came out and said the track was the problem. This time it cost me $260. I am not pleased at all because I am a widow and feel I was taken advantage of.

Service was prompt and quality of work was satisfactory but felt I overpaid. If you have the time in a non urgent situation, would definitely recommend getting other quotes from companies that don't charge a fee for estimates (and there are many). Precision currently charges $95 for the service call that is waived if you go ahead with an estimated service over $250. This puts you behind the eight ball to start if you want to go elsewhere. I gave them a try given their advertising but won't make that mistake again. I should have read their 2-3 star reviews that had other customers feeling they overpaid as well.

issue resolve. they responded quickly to address my concern. I had to decide in an urgency due to time limit and I was taken advantage due to their upsell tactic and my insufficient knowledge. This seems a big franchise and please be aware they won’t give you an affordable option from the beginning. Basically this company is not transparent. The service was good though but highly disappointed with their tactics to take advantage of their client. I would not use it anymore until they provide resolution

Ricky gets 4 stars; Precion's costs, 3 stars. He did a good job of explaining our options for maintenance of our garage door. I'm REALLY getting tired though of being told that various systems and devices are "builder grade," & therefore need a much more expensive upgrade of parts OR the entire system. In the case of our garage door, Ricky pitched that we needed to replace springs & rollers in addition to lubing & tightening to get any lasting improvement in noise level & smoothness of operation. Otherwise, we'd be needing the lubing & tightening again in a short amount of time. Therefore, since we're seniors & don't want to do all this again before we move to assisted-type living in a few years, I bought the logic of getting a better fix now...once & for all...despite the cost being a budget-buster.

Andy did a great job and came very quickly which I really appreciate. The reason I gave only 3 stars was that the price seemed very high for what was done. When I called, they told me it would be a $95 diagnostic fee and if they had to do work, that fee would go toward the cost of the work done. The diagnostic feel included an inspection of our doors. I was fine with that. Turns out they only apply the service fee if the cost of the work is $250 or more. So it was $95 for the call plus $150 which is the minimum for any work done. They may have said that and I just missed it but either way, that seemed very high. I would have expected the $95 plus the difference between the $150 and would have been pleased. As it was, I felt a little bit deceived and taken advantage of. I would use them again as they do provide good service but would be more selective in what I use them for.

Needed new springs. Appreciated the very fast time to book. Technician came within a couple of hours of booking. Technician was here for 45 minutes and it cost almost $1000. He did offer me a couple of additional (recommended by them) services to potentially bring the cost to $2300. Very nice guy but extremely overpriced. They have a business to run, and I don’t begrudge them for seeking additional sales or charging a premium but I could have gotten this repair for 50% less. I valued the quick turnaround, so I paid for it!!! If you do research you will find the same services for significantly less.

Service was quick and good, I am little disappointed by the fees they charged. It was just misalignment of sensor which he fixed in less than 5 minutes and charged me $166 for that, I was asking upfront charges after telling my issue before calling them at my home and they did not tell me the exact price. I am not sure that's how this industry operate.

The technician was great, service as well. I got an estimate from the office for repairs and the response was $200-350 per spring repair. The technician then quoted me $1,300, $1,600, or $1,900 based on level of service. 2-3X the email estimate. I challenged the technician and he said I had two springs and they would also need to replace the wires and bearings. He was very qualified, but I was frustrated to expect a repair of $600-700 and then the lowest repair quoted felt like an upsell instead of basic repair.

Over priced I should have ased for a quote ahead of time. I needed one torsion spring replaced. Tech quoted me $500 for one spring and recommended to have both replaced at the same time.. (i get it). I told him his prices were high. I called other garage repair companies and they quoted $250-$300 per spring. I settled on a competitor and had two springs replaced for a total of $600. Precision also has a philosophy of inspection (fishing to find anything wrong to replace above and beyond returning basic functionality. I didn't need my 30 year old garage door rebuilt to brand new. I just needed it to open and close. Although if thrthe spring replacement quote had been more reasonable then I would have entertained a quote on other work. but by then i had lost confidence.

I had precision come give me an estimate on a issue with my garage door. The salesman/repair man came to my house. Very polite and friendly gentleman. He told me that needed a new spring for my garage door and he quoted me $1600 for the repair. Unfortunately I found the price a little high, I called another company and got the repair done for $400.

I had been a repeat customer so called Precision to fix my broken door spring. The technician was pleasant but the pricing was very high. Had to pay $95 to say ‘no thanks’ to the quote and had work performed by another local company for 60% of the Precision quote (which included much larger springs and both bearings).

They have a good service, but the product is no quality and expensive. They install new garage door opener for 16 months ago, I have to call them back to repair and the parts is no warranty to cover.

Our home was built in 1994. It had a Genie chain drive garage door opener. After 29 years of noisy but dependable service, we selected Precision to upgrade the system with a Lift Master top of the line belt drive unit. For a premium price, it provided very quiet service and came with a warranty. One year later, it quit working. The service technician quickly identified the problem as a broken or defective wire. No problem, all the wiring was replaced within 30 minutes and I was given a bill for $203. It turns out the installer used the previous 29 year old wiring when upgrading to the new system. Apparently, this a common problem when replacing garage door openers. No warranty credit. Suggestion: When replacing units, replace the wiring and warranty the work. It is a minimal cost item and only takes a few minutes to accomplish. It will also improve customer relations. Both of the service techs were courteous, qualified and efficient.

First of all, let me compliment your technician, Andy Maynard. He was very friendly and informative. He gave me a couple of good tips for ongoing door maintenance. I really appreciate his help. Secondly, on a different note, I was amazed at how expensive your service has become. My total for a checkup on two doors was over $400 dollars. No repairs were needed or made. Andy was here about 20 minutes. That's $20 per minute. In July two years ago, same doors, same service cost $190. Your price has doubled. I will be reconsidering any checkups in the future and maybe start to get estimates from other door service companies.

Yes, the technician did the good job, I have no issues with him. But, I had a broken belt, instead of just replacing it he replaced the whole assembly. As per him it is company policy to replace the assembly, I think it is not necessary, I just need the belt. It cast me way more than I expected.
